The Cow Hollow Association Block Captain Initiative started as an effort to build a network of individuals on each block within the CHA boundaries that would facilitate building a sense of community among their neighbors. The goals of the initiative include:
To create a sense of neighborliness by helping residents get to know one another (small town feeling within a big city).
To establish preparation for possible disasters and awareness of who might need extra help in such an emergency (pets, elderly, out-of-town, etc.).
To provide a forum where security, parking, traffic, block parties and other mutual interests can be discussed.
To interface with CHA board and keep neighbors informed of pertinent issues and encourage their membership in the CHA.
Be a Block Captain The role of the block captain is to meet your neighbors on both sides of the block where you live and gather their names, addresses, and telephone numbers/email addresses. To find out who your block captain is, sign up to serve as a block liaison, or just learn more about this vital program, email [email protected].
