In addition to active CHA membership, CHA offers several other ways to get involved/
CHA occasionally designates a member to serve as the CHA’s liaison to the key agencies and groups that are handling a specific issue, such as:
Planning for the America’s Cup race to be held in San Francisco
The Cow Hollow Playground
Community Police Advisory Board
If you’ve expressed interest in a particular issue, you may be invited to become CHA’s official liaison regarding that issue.
Among the CHA’s important programs is the Block Captain (also known as “Block Liaison”) initiative. The goal is to designate a CHA Block Captain to each of the 80 blocks within CHA’s boundaries. The purpose of the initiative is to welcome newcomers and foster community within individual blocks and to take the recommended steps to prepare for disasters and other public emergencies. Contact CHA to learn who your Block Captain is or to learn more about becoming one yourself.
